Caro’s choice this time is a bit further away from central Vienna, located in the 2nd district. “Supersense” (Praterstrasse 70, 1020) is not only a unique place where to have your breakfast on a Saturday morning this fall, but it is also a shop with the world’s most analogue products – according to their own description of their place. “Supersense” is definitely worth a look and will be one special breakfast to have. You will be able to have a nice coffee while looking at the falling leaves, enjoying some music and the curiosity of their analogue products working on real life.
I have to admit, I have hidden feelings for “Nook” (Altgasse 12, 1130). This small coffee shop located in the 13th district is especially good at baking vegan products. Breakfast is served from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 am and all day through during the weekends. Isn’t that perfect? For all of you who are breakfast lovers, but the pillow usually is stronger than your will for coffee in the morning, this would be your perfect match. Their interior decoration is also one of the things I really like about them – all featuring pastel colours and small details that make the coffee shop extremely cosy for an “early” morning coffee/ yummy toast in October. But be aware: They like to go with the flow, so sometimes your order can take a while.
Antonia declared herself a lover of “Klyo” at Urania (Uraniastraße 1, 1010). The perfect spot for those of you who are in the centre of Vienna and have a long day ahead. “Klyo” has great views for those who enjoy the Wien Kanal vibes, like Antonia. Apart from these, you can also enjoy some very classic breakfast options and … PANCAKES. For those of you who are heading for a morning run straight after breakfast, „protein pancakes“ would most likely be your ideal option and these are also available all day long.
Lilly goes for “Vollpension” (Schleifmühlgasse 16, 1040). Let’s start with the most important detail. Cake pieces…. I mean, just try one – this is exactly what this place is all about. Grandmas cooking cakes. “Vollpension” is a coffee place run by a team of very kind waiters and some “real live Omas”. They cook and make you feel like you were at your grandma’s place. Literally. Of course, they have classic breakfasts too, and these are served from 9:00 am until 14:00 pm and until 16:00 pm on the weekends. Definitely worth a go this fall. You will be able to revive the “going to grandma’s” sensation.
Finally, Tati would stick to the “Breakfast Club” (Schleifmühlgasse 12-14, 1040) (oh, love it too!). At first sight, this is not the place that will catch your eye instantly, however, once inside it has something very old-school that catches your attention and sort of allows you to travel back in time. The breakfast variation is rather classic, from classic omelettes to toasts, French toasts or American style plates. You should arrive early since their space is quite limited and doesn’t offer many tables to sit inside during a cold morning of October. However, if you are lucky enough to find a spot for you, you will enjoy a real 90s style morning again.
Enjoy!
DEUTSCH
