March Obsessions: Shades Madness

Finally, the new season is here and with the spring days, my love for any type of sunglasses (especially) doubles. Sunglasses don’t know about age or time, they will forever be a must-have.

Personally, as you might already know, I am a big fan of these Givenchy sunglasses. These lovers travelled all the way with me to Thailand and even to the snowy mountains last month. However, I have to confess that any type of shades can quickly win a place in my heart.

So, without further ado, here are some of my favourite trends and shades at the moment.

The never-ending trend. The “Aviators” or „pilot’s glasses“, were originally developed in the ’30s by Bausch & Lomb for pilots to protect their eyes while on a flight and were later adapted for its military use.

They have always been one of my favourites, however, I am also excited to try out new updated designs. Simply because good trends never disappear. These ones by Loewe are already on my must-have list.

One of the main trends of the season. You might have started to see beige everywhere, clothes, shoes and other accessories, but these sunglasses from Mykita are especially cool in my opinion. They are elegant and chic. The perfect accessory for an office lunch outside or simply a coffee break between meeting and meeting. Beware, more beige will invade the shops soon, so you might as well get going and be the first one to get them.

This trend, I must admit, not only reminds me of the Spice Girls, but it also took me a while to find them “cool” or “wearable” should I rather say. The design on the left by Stella McCartney though, helped me see the trend from a different perspective. What do you say? Could you imagine a mother wearing these in the children’s park after school?

Time travelling is sometimes fun and this trend makes me travel all the way back to the 70s (even though I am a cool 80s kid). Monochrome is a trend that will also reflect on fashion this season. Expect to see a lot of all-in-one-colour looks this year, because you will be wearing them soon too. But for now… let’s start with the shades from Armani. Step by step.
