Pomellato 50 Year Anniversary in Vienna

It was 1967 when Pino Rabollini founded the brand that would soon start breaking the classic aesthetics of the jewellery world. Their chains would cause the world to go crazy. Small, big, minimalist, anyhow still chains.

Pomelatto managed to introduce a prêt-à-porter philosophy to a very traditional world, with their special touch of creativity and colour. They were trendsetters in a historically established world. Today, 50 years later, women around Italy and the whole globe get to wear their distinctive creations and enjoy their feeling of (female) power.

It was May 1996 when Monica Bellucci got to wear just a piece of lingerie and Pomellato jewellery for Vogue Italia – simply stunning! 22 years later, they still like to keep their philosophy alive – statement pieces that actually dress a woman and not simply adorn. Just take a look at their latest global campaign starring inspiring women like Chiara Ferragani and Helen Nonini.

The Italian brand is turning 50 this year and they are making sure the whole globe gets to celebrate it with them. Finally, the time has come and the 50 Year Anniversary of Pomellato took place in Vienna. And we received THE invitation to this very special event taking place at the Italian Embassy in Palais Kaunitz-Metternich.

Lilly and I got quickly down to business… We wanted to have our jewellery ready and for that, we trusted Juwelier Heldwein.

Lilly wore a spectacular pair of Pomellato earrings from the Nudo Collection in a delicate blue tone. Her necklace was also a Pomellato piece from the Capri Collection which was a gift many years ago. Her stunning ring though was from the Heldwein collection 1902. Me on the other hand, I was wearing this gold statement chain with diamonds by Pomellato from the Ming Collection (which you can also wear as a belt – how cool is that?) that you can still get at Graben 13 in Vienna. Then on my hands, I was wearing two Ole Lynggaard rings, one with a grey moonstone and the other one with beautiful rutile quartz. Finally, on my wrist, I am wearing my all-time favourite Ole Lynggaard Nature bracelet and some Gilbert Albert extra pieces.

Once the jewellery and outfits were ready, we were ready to head over to the party, but before getting in the cab direction Italian Embassy, we stopped by the Hotel Grand Ferdinand… Pre-drinks with the team was a must!
